My first-hand experience with Chandigarh Smart City Limited’s latest initiative
As a citizen of Chandigarh who is passionate about the development of our city, I am thrilled to share with you all the latest initiatives that I witnessed first-hand at Sector 17.
Chandigarh Smart City Limited has recently launched a free battery-operated cart service to assist visitors at Sector 17.
Personal Experience with the Battery-Operated Cart Service
When I first heard about the initiative, I was excited to see how it would work in practice. As someone who frequently visits Sector 17, I was curious to see how the carts would navigate the busy market area.
So, I decided to go there myself and see the carts in action. As soon as I reached Sector 17, I saw a few battery-operated carts parked near the entrance.
I went up to the driver, and he informed me that the service was free of cost and that I could hop onto the cart anytime I wanted.
I was pleased to see that the carts were spacious and comfortable. As I sat in the cart, I noticed that it was very quiet and did not produce any harmful emissions, making it an eco-friendly alternative to traditional modes of transportation.
I also noticed that the drivers were very courteous and respectful towards the elderly and differently-abled passengers.
They made sure that they were comfortable and catered to their specific needs. It was heartwarming to see such kindness and empathy towards fellow citizens.
Features and Vision of the Initiative
The service of battery-operated carts is free of cost and priority is given to the elderly and differently-abled people.
The battery-operated carts are enabled with GPS tracking, LED screens, speakers, and magazine holders for information dissemination related to initiatives/important information by various government institutions.
The carts are available between 10 am and 7 pm and will ferry visitors around the market area based on their needs. As of now, 10 carts have been made available under this initiative.
The vision behind this service is to encourage public safety and security for people, especially the elderly.
This service is a step towards providing seamless connectivity in the city center of Sector 17, Chandigarh by substituting it with non-polluting and non-motorized public transport.
Apart from ensuring comfort and convenience to the populace belonging to a certain demographic profile, it will also play a major role in enhancing mobility at large in the city center and provide a different experience for people visiting Sector 17.
Conclusion and Future Expectations
Overall, my experience with the battery-operated cart service in Sector 17 was excellent. It was a smooth, hassle-free ride, and I felt safe and secure throughout the journey.
I believe that this initiative will go a long way in enhancing the mobility and convenience of visitors to Sector 17, especially the elderly and differently-abled.
I am extremely happy with this initiative, and I hope to see more such innovative ideas in the future to make our city smarter and more efficient.
It is indeed a great step towards making Chandigarh a smart city and ensuring the comfort and convenience of its citizens.
